Holton Water District Receives USDA Loan

( KNZA )--A total of 12 Kansas communities—including Holton—have received a total of $9.7 million in loan and grant funding from USDA Rural Development to help improve infrastructure and public safety.

Holton Public Wholesale Water Supply District #18 has been awarded a nearly $3.3 million loan.  The financing will be used to improve the filtration system of their water treatment plant.

The funding is being provided through USDA Rural Development’s Water and Environmental Program, which provides financing for drinking water, sanitary sewer, solid waste and storm drainage facilities in rural areas.
