( KNZA )--The Brown County Commission has approved a three year contract extension with Hamm Quarries for the transportation and disposal of solid waste from the county transfer station.

Commissioners signed the contract extension Monday.

Commissioner Warren Ploeger said Hamm agreed to waive the three percent annual increase for 2013, which will save the county $11,000.

Hamm hauls the trash from the Brown County transfer station to it’s landfill near Perry.

The contract will run through December 31st, 2015.
