Two Injured in Atchison Motorcycle Accident

(KAIR) -- Two people are injured after a motorcycle crash in Atchison Tuesday evening.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, it happened at 7:12 at the corner of River Road and Atchison Street.

The accident occurred when 48-year-old Atchison Police Sergeant Brent Duncan of Lancaster was traveling on a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on River Road and failed to negotiate a curve, striking a curb.

Duncan lost control and laid the motorcycle on its side.

He and a passenger, 28-year-old Amber Martin of Atchison were taken to Atchison Hospital with injuries.

The Patrol described Martin’s injuries as disabling and says both were not wearing a helmet.

Duncan, with the motorcycle patrol at the police department, was off-duty when the accident occurred.
