Meetings Scheduled to Discuss Falls City Comprehensive Plan
12/03/2012

(KTNC) - Two town hall meetings are planned this week, to give the public a chance to offer input on the future of Falls City, as the town begins the process in putting together its next comprehensive plan.
The meetings will be held Wednesday at Konstantino’s Pizza, at 117 East 17th Street.  The first meeting will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., and the second is scheduled from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m.
Falls City EDGE is working with the city to put the plan together. EDGE Executive Director Beckie Cromer explains what the comprehensive plan entails.   (play audio   :27)
The town hall meetings are just one part of the process that will be used to compile the comprehensive plan.  Cromer says that process will take about a year to complete.  (play audio  :34)
You can provide input throughout the process online at
www.engagefallscity.com.  Cromer says you will have to register to be able to leave a comment.  (play audio  :38)
The comprehensive plan is done every 10 to 15 years.  Cromer says a comprehensive plan is often necessary when a community applies for grants, and there are also statutory requirements for a comprehensive plan.  She says the elements in the community to be evaluated will be driven by those statutory requirements.
