Bids Accepted for Marshall & Pott Co Highway Projects

( KMZA )-The Kansas Department of Transportation has accepted bids for several highway construction and maintenance projects in Marshall and Pottawatomie Counties.

In Marshall County, a recycle and overlay project will take place on more than 11 miles of U.S. 77 Highway from the west junction with U.S. 36 north to the Kansas/Nebraska state line.  Bettis Asphalt and Construction Inc. of Topeka was awarded the contract for the project with a bid of more than $988,000.

Also in Marshall County, Hall Brothers Inc. of Marysville will overlay 3 ½ miles of K-233 from the junction with U.S. 77 east to Oketo 

at a cost of about $468,000.

In Pottawatomie County,  Bettis Asphalt and Construction was awarded the bid to overlay nearly 22 miles of K-99 from the junction with U.S. 24 north to the junction with K-16 at a cost of nearly $1.5 million.

And Bettis Asphalt was also awarded the bid for a 35 mile asphalt paving project on portions of several highways in Marshall and Pottawatomie at cost of more than 3 million dollars.  The project includes portions of K-87, K-99 and K-9.
