As part of the terms of his probation, Bruggeman was order to serve the jail time, which will be done in the Jackson County Jail.
Bruggeman pleaded no contest to the charge in December. In exchange for the plea a felony charge of official misconduct was dismissed.
Prior to sentencing, Bruggeman addressed the court, apologizing for his actions.
Kristiane Bryant, Assistant Kansas Attorney General, asked that Bruggeman be sentenced to prison. His attorney, Shawna Miller, requested that he be placed on probation and allowed to continue substance abuse treatment.
Bruggeman was arrested in May of last year following an investigation by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
