( KNZA )-- A single-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon on a Jefferson County road claimed the life of a rural Valley Falls man.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office, Todd Scott Erickson was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Fairview Road northeast of Oskaloosa.
Erickson was a passenger in a 2003 Ford F-350 pickup driven by David McHenry of McLouth. The sheriff’s office says McHenry was traveling east when he lost control of the vehicle, which overturned several times.
McHenry was taken by Life Flight Air Ambulance to the University of Kansas Medical Center in serious condition.
The sheriff’s office, Kansas Highway Patrol, Oskaloosa Fire Department and Jefferson County EMS responded to the accident shortly after 12:40 Sunday afternoon.
The accident remains under investigation
