( KNZA )--Northeast Kansas area residents will have a chance next month to learn more about a 700-mile high-voltage transmission line expected to pass through the area.
Clean Line Energy Partners has scheduled public open meetings in several area communities to provide community members and landowners an opportunity to learn about the Grain Belt Express Clean Line transmission project.
The project will deliver 35-hundred megawatts of wind power from western Kansas to communities in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and points father east that have strong demand for clean, reliable energy.
Public meetings will held Tuesday, February 12th in Seneca and Marysville. They will take place that morning from 7 to 9 at the Nemaha County Community building in Seneca and that evening from 5 to 7 at the Marysville American Legion.
The following day, February 13th, public meetings will be held in Troy and Hiawatha. They will take place that morning from 7 to 9 at the Troy Community building and that evening from 5 to 7 at the Fisher Center in Hiawatha.
During the meetings, officials with Clean Line Energy Partners will discuss potential routing options for the transmission line and give the public an opportunity to provide feedback.
