Falls City School Board Accepts Two Resignations
02/13/2013

(KTNC) -  The Falls City Board of Education accepted resignations from two teachers Monday night.
The board accepted resignations from Middle School Spanish teacher Wanda Biel and 3rd Grade Teacher Jan Deckenger, who will be retiring at the end of the school year.
In other business, District Transportation Director Rob Baker recommended the district purchase a new 52-passenger bus from Blue Bird.  The district received three bids for a new bus, and Blue Bird’s bid $80,861 was the lowest bid – $139 lower than the bid of $81,000 from International.
The new bus will replace a 1996 bus that Baker says will have 195,000 miles on it at the end of the school year.  The new bus will have a white roof, with the hope that will reduce the heat inside the bus.
The Richardson County Spelling Bee was held February 5th at O’Connor Hall.  Kade Bredemeier of Falls City South School won the 5th and 6th grade division, and Falls City Middle School student Jordyn Bomar won the 7th and 8th grade division.
