(KNZA )-Teachers in Prairie Hills USD 113 will be getting Ipads.
Superintendent Dr. Bill Orth says the school board Monday evening approved the purchase of 120 Ipads at a cost of $69,480 as part of the district’s one-to-one initiative the district is moving toward.
Funding for the Ipads will come from the district’s capital outlay funds.
Orth says future plans are to purchase Ipads for all students.
In other business, the board approved the purchase of new band uniforms for Sabetha High School.
80 uniforms will be purchased at a cost of $33,680. Orth said students raised about one-third of the cost, or nearly $11,000.
The current uniforms are 15 to 16 years old.
Following a closed-door session, the board approved pay raises for the district’s building administrators and technology staff.
Orth says they were given a similar raise to what teachers received, which amounts to about a $200 pay increase over last year.
