( KMZA )--A Nebraska-based animal health company is expanding its operations to northeast Kansas.
At a press conference Friday at the K-State Research Park, Midwest Veterinary Services announced that it is building a Veterinary and Biomedical Research Center in Pottawatomie County. Local and state officials were on hand for the announcement.
Over the next few years, the company expects to create 18 new positions with an average salary of $65,000 and anticipates about $10 million dollars in new capital investment in Kansas.
MVS will partner with Kansas State University’s veterinary college in research efforts.
The company will design and conduct research that guides potential products through the FDA and USDA regulatory approval pathway for vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturers
MVS is constructing the 20,000-square- foot facility in the Green Valley Business Park in Blue Township along the Highway 24 corridor.
Construction is expected to be finished in July.
