(KNZA)--It's being called “A Candlelight Vigil In Honor of Our Lil Man,” as area residents come together to memorialize the life of the four year old Brown County boy who died this week, following an alleged case of child abuse.

Hayslett, who expresses grief at the loss of the child she had come to know during his short life, says it's hoped that the vigil will also call awareness to the warning signs of child abuse(Play Audio)
Services for the child, who died Tuesday, will be at 12 noon Saturday at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton.
His father, Lee Davis IV, is held in the Brown County Jail on 2-million-dollars-bond, charged with murder in the first-degree and felony abuse of a child.
The criminal complaint filed in the case states that Davis “cruelly beat” the child, who was pronounced dead Tuesday, following hospitalized treatment that began Sunday at Children's Mercy in Kansas City.
The preliminary hearing for Davis is scheduled for March 13th.
