(KLZA) The Humboldt – Table Rock – Steinauer School Board approved a 2.5 percent pay raise for the districts principals and superintendent when they met Monday night in Humboldt. That is the same increase as the districts teachers received on their base pay.
The Board received update on a couple of building items. Concerns have been raised about some cracks in the west wall of the gymnasium at the Humboldt site. Superintendent Clint Kimbrough explains. ( play audio :51 seconds )
The 11 member committee created to explore the possibility of adding a fitness center / weight room facility at the Humboldt site met last week. Kimbrough says the committee is exploring their options. ( play audio :45 seconds )
The HTRS Board approved the hiring of Greg Morris who teaches at Johnson County Central to teach Drivers Education at HTRS this year. Morris will be paid $22 per hour. The cost for HTRS district students for the course will be $175 with the cots for out-of-district students set at $200.
The 2013-14 school calendar was also approved. The first day of classes in August will be August 15th with the final day for students in May 2014 on the 19th.
Superintendent Kimbrough also noted a number of policies were discussed; the purchase of laptop computers for the Table Rock site was approved; staff appreciation day will be May 6th with a two hour late start for school that day.
A number of improvements for track at Power Field including shot put and discuss cement pads and a pole vault runway were also discussed.
