Wanted Trucker Found In Minnesota

Shane Snodgrass

(KNZA)--The former Morrill truck driver, wanted in connection with last year's incident involving the unlawful transport of a Sabetha teen from one state to another, is now in custody, but it's not immediately known where he's held.

Shane Snodgrass failed to appear in Linn County Oregon Circuit Court on January 9th where he was chaged with felony custodial intereference.

On the run since that time, Snodgrass was located in Brown County, Minnesota and arrested by the Sheriff's office. According to Sheriff Rich Hoffman, it's believed Snodgrass had been living in that location at the time of his March 21st arrest. Hoffman says Snodgrass has since been extradited to another jurisdiction, but it's not clear where he was taken.

The Linn County Oregon Sheriff's Department says along with their warrant, Snodgrass was also wanted on a warrant issued by Missouri, but the county that issued that warrant is not currently known. However, with Snodgrass not held in Oregon or Minnesota, it's believed he is held in custody somewhere in Missouri.

Snodgrass was 43-years-old last December when he allegedly agreed to meet then 16-year-old Sabetha resident Kristina Richey in Nebraska City.

She was traveling, without parental permission, to meet a former classmate believed to be a relative of Snodgrass.

Richey was located at the Oregon home of Snodgrass unharmed and with the friend she planned to meet.  She was returned to the custody of her parents.

Snodgrass was then charged with the felony, related to his allowing Richey to ride with him without her parent's consent.  However, he failed to appear in court, leading to the issuance of the Oregon warrant.
