Severance City Council Tie Broken

(KNZA)--A three-way tie for two positions on the Severance City Council has been broken.

Write-in candidates James Betts and Lori Stewart names were drawn from a cup Monday by the Doniphan County Commission to fill the two positions.

Betts and Stewart, along with Steven Pratt, whose name appeared on the ballot, each received 9 votes in last Tuesday’s general election.

Betts and Stewart will join Gene Makeeff, Kenneth Moppin Sr. and Gene Moppin in serving on the council.
