(KNZA)- A 28-year-old Hoyt man was arrested by Jackson County Sheriff's deputies early ( this ) Friday morning following a police pursuit that ended in Brown County.

Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says deputies attempted to stop a 1999 Ford Explorer driven by Braden Spicher around 1:45 that was allegedly traveling at an excessive speed through the City of Holton.

Deputies continued to pursue the vehicle north of Holton on US Highway 75. Jackson County authorities requested the Brown County Sheriff’s Office to shut the southbound lane of the highway down and to deploy stop sticks in order to end the pursuit.

Tires on the suspect vehicle were deflated and the vehicle came to a stop near the Sac and Fox Casino about 15 miles north of where the pursuit began.

Spicher was arrested for driving under the influence, driving while suspended and fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer. Bond was set at $500.
