Women's Safety Training to be Offered in Seneca
(KMZA )-The Nemaha County ( KS ) Sheriff’s office will be offering free training to women in the county later this month, focusing on safety awareness and self defense.
The training will consist of three one hour segments in the following areas: Prevention and Safety tips, Weapons including Mace, and Hands on Training.
Sheriff Rich Vernon says by attending the training women can improve their awareness of surroundings, both around their home and when they are traveling. He says participants will also receive information and training on how to avoid or deter potential confrontations with an attacker.
The class will be held May 20th beginning at 6 in the evening at 710 Pioneer Street in Seneca, which is the former Nemaha Valley Grade School.
Anyone interested in attending the class is urged to register by calling the Nemaha County Sheriff’s office at 785-336-2311 so they can have enough materials prepared.
Participants must be at least 15 years of age.
