(KTNC) - Crews are assessing storm damage, and working to restore power, in Atchison County Missouri, where more than 100 people were without power late Tuesday morning following Monday night’s severe storms.
Rhonda Wiley is the Atchison County Emergency Management Director. Wiley says KCP-and-L had restored power to about 60 residents as of 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, while approximately 112 people remained in the dark. Atchison-Holt Electric also had some power poles knocked down.
Wiley says it could be a while, up to 24-hours, before power is fully restored in the county. She says it appears initially that the damage was a result of straight-line winds that swept through the county.
