(KTNC) - Flood warnings continue for rivers in the area.
The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a flood warning for the Big Nemaha River at Falls City. At 4:45 this (Thursday) morning, the river stage was at 26.9-feet, just below the 27-foot flood stage.
The Big Nemaha is forecast to rise above flood stage early today before falling below flood stage late this morning.
A flood warning has also been issued for the Little Nemaha River near Auburn, where the stage was one-and-a-half feet below the 22-foot flood stage early this morning. The Little Nemaha is forecast to rise to near the flood stage this (Thursday) afternoon, causing some minor flooding.
A flood warning also continues for the Missouri River.
At Rulo, the river stage was at 20.8-feet late Wednesday night. Flood stage is 17-feet. The river is now forecast to crest at 21.3-feet by this (Thursday) evening and fall below flood stage late Monday morning.
The Missouri River at Brownville was at 34.3-feet Wednesday night, 1.3-feet above flood stage. The river at Brownville is forecast to crest at 36.9-feet Saturday morning and fall below flood stage Monday morning.
A flash flood watch is also in effect through this evening in southeast Nebraska and northeast Kansas, and through Friday evening in northwest Missouri.
