( KMZA )--Authorities are seeking information on the theft of a vehicle recovered from a river in Pottawatomie County this week..
Sheriff Greg Riat says a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada was recovered Sunday from the Blue River near the Marshall-Pottawatomie County line.
Riat says the owner had reported the vehicle as stolen the same day from Topeka.
The vehicle was located when a fisherman on the Blue River North of Olsburg noticed what appeared to be tire tracks going over a high embankment into the river.
The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, the Marysville Dive Team, Corps of Engineers and Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
The vehicle, valued at 35-hundred dollars, is considered a total loss.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office at 785-457-3353.
