(KAIR) -- Jefferson County is the latest in line to request for an exemption to a new law that would allow concealed carry permit holders to bring concealed weapons into state and municipal buildings.
County Commissioners Monday approved a letter to send to the Attorney General to request exemption from the law until January 1, 2014.
The new law is set to take effect July 1st.
In other business, based of the recommendations of the Jefferson Township Board, Commissioners appointed Francis Winsor as Jefferson Township Clerk and member of Jefferson Fire District 12 board.
Winsor will be filling the unexpired term of Jim Clark.
