(KAIR)--An Atchison man is in police custody following his arrest in a case of alleged child abuse.
Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says his department was notified around 5 o'clock Monday morning by Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City that a 3-month-old child from Atchison had been transferred to their facility from the Atchison Hospital with injuries believed to be the result of child abuse.
Wilson says the injury, which was a broken leg, occurred Sunday.
Following an investigation, he says the baby's father, 22-year-old Eric Hall, was arrested Monday on charges of felony child abuse and aggravated battery.
Hall was booked into the Atchison County Jail.
Wilson says the investigation is ongoing.
