(KNZA)--A Holton resident gains statewide attention while helping to raise funds for children in need, selected to appear in the 2014 Kansas Fire Fighters Coats 4 Kids calendar.
Dean Snepp works as a firefighter, EMT and CPR trainer at the in-house fire department at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant in Topeka. Also a pipefitter at the company, Snepp has also worked for the the Jackson County EMS ambulance service as part of his near decade in the firefighting/EMS field.
It was at the end of June that Snepp's firefighting duties took a twist, accepting an invitation to the Wichita based auditions for the firefighter's calendar, leading to his selection from a wide range of candidates who had hoped for a slot in the calendar.
Snepp says his featured month will be selected once the photo shoot is completed, with the calendar set to go on sale during the week of Thanksgiving.
