Falls City Council Approves Purchase of New Server

 (KLZA) The Falls City, City Council Monday night approved the lease of a new server for the City offices.  The cost estimated in the neighborhood of $10,000 will be split between the General Fund and the Utility Department. 

The current server is at least five years old and is very near to its full capacity of use. 

The Council voted 7-1 with Council Person Judy Murphy casting the nay vote to give favorable comment for special designated liquor license for a street dance during the Cobblestone Festival on August 23rd requested by Eric Froeschl.  This will replace the license previously applied for by the Chamber of Commerce / Main Street Committee.

The Council also approved recommended changes from the Housing Advisory Board concerning changes to the Housing Rehab Program Guidelines for the 2013 home owner applications and income reuse plan.

A request to block off Weaver Street from 11th to 12th on July 6th for a block party from 3:30 p-m to 12 a-m was approved.  Also approved was a request to block of Stone Street between 14th and 15th on July 13th from 9 a-m until 11:30 a-m and form 5 p-m to 11 p-m for the Tanner Merz Memorial Cruise.  The event is to raise funds for a scholarship at Falls City High School.
