(KAIR)--A young boy darts out in front of a car, traveling on an Atchison street just minutes after 6:30 Tuesday evening; and, unable to stop in time, the driver hits the boy, leaving him injured.
Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says it happened in the 1000 block of North 5th Street, with the right side of the car striking the 10-year-old who required hospital treatment for what's reported as a broken leg.
Wilson says due to the congested nature of the neighborhood where it happened, there was nothing driver Jason Price, Jr., traveling at a low rate of speed, could have done to avoid hitting the boy.
