Follow Fireworks Laws Before Launch
07/03/2013

(KAIR)--With the 4th of July falling on a Thursday, Independence Day celebrations are planned throughout the weekend, meaning homegrown fireworks displays in conjunction with the professional ones.

For those planning to go it alone, local laws need to be followed regarding the use of such explosives.

In the City of Atchison, any type of explosive is a no no, and the same can be said for some other local municipalities.  Some will allow use during specified days only, meaning local ordinances should be checked and followed before any explosive discharge.

Those who choose to go to an area where many personal fireworks are allowed, state laws, such as the illegality of bottle rockets, must be followed.

Safety is always a must, especially when it comes to children, who must be closely supervised during any use of fireworks.
