(KTNC) - The Falls City Board of Education is continuing to take applications from those interested in filling a vacancy on the board. The vacancy was created last month, with the death of longtime member Kathy Bartek.
Anyone interested in filling the vacancy may contact the Falls City Public Schools Central Office at 402-245-2825 with questions, or visit the district website at www.fctigers.org.
Responsibilities and information concerning the role of a school board member is available online at http://members.nasbonline.org.
The deadline to apply for consideration is 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22nd. Those who apply will be asked to provide a letter of interest including background information as to why they are interested in serving on the School Board.
The school board term will expire in January 2017. The person appointed will serve until January 2015, and will have to run for a two-year term in the 2014 general election.
The Falls City School Board will discuss the vacancy at a special meeting at 7:00 p.m. on July 22nd.
