(KNZA)--One arrest is made in connection with the discovery of what Jackson County authorities say was a stolen car traveling through the local area.
Sheriff Tim Morse says it happened Wednesday afternoon when a deputy spotted a 2005 Buick Lesabre swerving on U.S. Highway 75, and performed a vehicle registration check which showed that the car had been stolen in Sumner County, Kansas.
The vehicle was stopped, and 44-year-old Topeka resident Wendy Zirkle was arrested.
According to Morse, an unspecified controlled substance was discovered in the car.
Zirkle faces charges of possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
Booked into the Jackson County jail, bond for Zirkle remains pending.
