St. Joseph Father Charged in Baby's Tub Death
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) - Authorities in northwest Missouri are looking for a St. Joseph man charged in his infant son's bathtub drowning.
Eight-month-old Kion Winkfield-Maynard died Aug. 2 after being left in the tub unattended.
The St. Joseph News-Press reports the baby's 24-year-old father, Shawn Winkfield-Maynard, was charged Monday with first-degree involuntary manslaughter.
Buchanan County prosecutor Dwight Scroggins says Winkfield-Maynard was one of two adults in the house when the baby was left alone in the tub for an extended period of time.
Winkfield-Maynard had not been arrested as of Tuesday while authorities continued to look for him.
