Hiawatha School Board Approves Budget

(KNZA)--The Hiawatha Board of Education has adopted a 2013-2014 budget of $14.2 million that calls for a slight decrease in the property tax levy.

The action came this week following a hearing drawing no public comment.

The budget contains an estimated tax rate of 52.558 mills, a .23 mill decrease over last school year’s budget.  The mill levy is to generate nearly $4.4 million.
