(KAIR)--A 26-year-old Atchison County man, riding an ATV near a hog farm, suffers injuries when one of the animals runs into his path Saturday night.
Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie says it happened shortly after 9:00 on 234th Road, just east of Rooks Road, and west of Saint Patrick's cemetery
Laurie says it was in that location that Andrew Kuhn, riding the ATV, encountered the hog, striking and killing the animal when it ran into the roadway.
That led to injuries for Kuhn; and, while a Lifelight helicopter was called to the scene, he refused transport, and was instead taken by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph for treatment.
