(KAIR)--Two Atchison residents were seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident east of Winthrop, Missouri early Saturday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 37-year-old Shannon Boffman was traveling east on U.S. 59 when she tried to pass another vehicle on the shoulder of the highway. Her pickup then crossed the center line and hit a westbound station wagon driven by 60-year-old Max Berry nearly head-on around 12:40 Saturday morning.
Boffman, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was ejected from her pickup as it overturned several times after leaving the highway.
Boffman was taken by helicopter to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Berry was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Just so that everyone is clear. The front end locked up on the truck, causing it to overturn. Boffman is a MALE, not female.
