(KMZA)--A resurfacing project will begin Monday on a 20-mile stretch of K-16 Highway in Pottawatomie and Riley Counties, weather permitting.
The project will take place from the K-99 junction at the city of Blaine in Pottawatomie County west to the U.S. 77 junction just north of the city of Randolph in Riley County.
Work will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with some occasional Saturday work.
Beginning Monday, eastbound and westbound K-16 will be reduced to one lane for both directions along with intermittent closures of adjacent cross roads during the project work hours. Traffic will be directed through the work zone via a pilot car operation during daylight hours only.
Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes maximum and are encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible.
Hall Brothers Inc. of Marysville is the primary contractor on the 2 million dollar project which is scheduled for completion in mid-November, weather permitting.
