(KMZA)--Steps are being taken to resolve emergency radio communications issues between the Seneca EMS and Centralia EMS personnel.
The matter was discussed when Nemaha County Commissioners met this week.
Among those in attendance was Al Haug, of Haug Communications. He believes that adding a repeater in the Centralia area would resolve the matter. Two cost estimates were presented by Haug, one checking in at $30,000 while the other came in at $13,000.
Seneca EMS representative Dave Rethman weighed in, saying the Nemaha Couny Co-op is willing to allow the county to install a repeater atop their Centralia grain tower.
Now, Haug plans to perform studies to show the performance of a repeater placed in that that location as well as one placed on top of the state tower located at the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 9, east of Centralia.
The results will be shared with the Commissioners, who want to know the pricetag for placing a repeater on each of the locations.
