(KNZA)--Brown County has been awarded funding through the Kansas Department of Transportation for a bridge replacement project.
Commissioner Warren Ploeger announced at Monday’s county commission meeting that the county had been notified by KDOT that a bridge replacement project about two miles southeast of Hamlin will be included in the agency’s federal fiscal year 2015 Off-System Bridge Program.
KDOT will fund 80 percent of the construction cost for the replacement of the existing fracture critical bridge. A bid letting hasn’t been announced for the project.
KDOT says 17 projects out of 66 applications were selected for fiscal year 2015 funding
