(KTNC) -- A long-awaited road project in Richardson County is inching toward completion.
Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert gave Richardson County Commissioners an update on the Preston Road project Tuesday morning.
Huppert says they will be cleaning up the concrete, striping the road, and erecting barricades so they can open the road this week to local traffic only.
Huppert says the project is not finished. He says there is a lot of work left to do, including work on the shoulders, guardrails, and concrete work around the railroad tracks.
Huppert says the contractor expects to come back to finish the work when the weather warms up, likely this spring.
