(KMZA)--The Marshall County Commission has adopted a revised county Neighborhood Revitalization Plan for 2014-2016.
The action came following a public hearing this week.
A couple of changes have been made to the program, which provides a property tax break for new construction or renovation of an existing structure.
The program has been shorten from three years to five years while the tax abatement will increase to make up for the shortened program.
Under the modified plan, the property tax break will be 80 percent the first year, 60 percent the second year, and 30 percent the third year.
The plan will also suggest that applicants use Marshall County contractors and suppliers on all projects.
