Nemaha Co Conservation District to Hold Annual Meeting
The Nemaha County Conservation District will hold their 67th Annual Meeting on Thursday at the Nemaha County Community Building in Seneca.
A free meal, furnished by the Nemaha County Bankers Association, will be served from 6 to 7, with the business meeting to follow. The public is invited to attend.
An election of two supervisors of the Nemaha County Conservation District Board will be held. The terms of office for Mike Schmitz and Ken Kramer will expire. Other current board members are: Jim Dobbins, Burton Robinson and Rosalyn Stallbaumer.
Prizes will be presented to the winners of the conservation district’s poster and limerick contests, as well as state awards. Cliff & Meridee Swart will be presented the Kansas Bankers Association’s Soil Conservation Award; Carl and Ruth, JM and Jason Swart will receive the Windbreak Award and Brown & Sons Farm will receive the Grassland Award. The Buffer Award will be presented to Jerry Rusche, and Rottinghaus Family Dairy will receive the Water Quality Award. The Nemaha County Chapter of Pheasants Forever and Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks will present Leo and Nancy Wessel the Wildlife Habitat Award.
