(KAIR)--The Atchison County Commission has taken the first steps toward purchasing new extrication equipment for the county.
County Emergency Management Director Wes Lanter came before the Commission last week to present the bid specs for the new equipment. He says the current equipment has been in use for over three decades, and while it still works, modern technology on today's vehicles has necessitated an upgrade in the rescue equipment.
The Commission approved the specs.
Bidders will have until April 22nd to submit their bid to the Commission, who will then accept the lowest bid, as per county policy.
