(KTNC) -- Falls City’s Spring Community Clean-up is this week.
The bulk of the clean-up event will be Friday and Saturday. Residents will be able to take large items – such as furniture, metal items, or grills – to the city parking lot on 18th Street between Barada and Chase from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday and 8:00 to 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
Falls City Sanitation and Koelzer Salvage will accept those items, as well as used oil.
Goodwill will accept items – including clothing, usable home goods, furniture, and used computer equipment – at the Falls City Library parking lot. They will be there from 5:00 to 7:00 Friday evening and from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Paper Tiger Shredding will also be at the Library from 10:00 a.m. till noon on Saturday to shred paper documents.
The Richardson County Sheriff’s Department will accept old or unused prescription medication at the Courthouse parking lot from 9:00 a.m. till noon on Saturday. The drug take-back event also includes an amnesty for illegal drugs, which can be turned in Saturday no questions asked.
Also as part of the cleanup, Falls City residents can do some “curbside shopping” by placing items on the curb with a “free” sign on them. Items not picked up by the end of the week should then be taken to one of the collection sites.
Anyone who needs help moving a heavy item or appliance out of a home or business can arrange to have Bek and Son pick it up for a small fee by calling 402-245-7378.
