(KAIR)--An Atchison couple, convicted of misdemeanor child endangerment, has been sentenced to probation for the crime.
44-year-old Christopher Paxton and his wife, 32-year-old Virginia Paxton, appeared in Atchison County District Court Friday morning where they were given a one year suspended jail sentence. Judge Martin Asher then placed the couple on one year of supervised probation.
Virginia Paxton was also given a six month suspended jail sentence for an additional charge of misdemeanor battery.
The couple was arrested in November, after a police investigation concluded that their 10-year-old son showed signs of abuse and neglect.
