Richardson County Commissioners Receive Update on Jail Bids

(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners held a conference call with representatives of Prochaska & Associates Tuesday to review the results of the bids for the proposed Richardson County Law Enforcement Center Addition and Renovation received last week. 

Minutes from a February 12, Nebraska Jail Standards Board meeting have also been received documenting that the final plans had been approved by the Board. A code review was also received from the Nebraska State Fire Marshal in regards to the final plans. 

Also via teleconference, Mike Farrell with the Spyglass company reviewed findings of the telecommunications audit performed by Spyglass.  Commissioners will continue to review the findings during a later meeting. 

Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert updated Commissioners on the Road and Bridge Department. Huppert updated the Board on the pre-construction conference on the Stella Southeast, or Tynon Bridge project. 

Huppert informed the Board he would be advertising for applications for a crane operator/welder position and a laborer position to fill vacancies. 

Commissioners also authorized the Highway Superintendent to advertise for sealed bids for armor coating on some of the hard surfaced roads in Richardson County. Bids will be opened at 11 a-m on April 7. 

Sealed bids will also be opened April 7 at 11:15 a-m for a motor grader.
