(KLZA)-- Water supply issues for the Village of Shubert were a major topic of discussion during the recent NRD Board meeting in Tecumseh.
In August, a problem with one of the communities wells prompted Village officials to call the NRD to help determine whether recently permitted wells in the area could be contributing to the issues. Some Board members felt additional, new well development in the area should be temporarily limited until more data could be collected.
Since the budget includes a review and assessment of the aquifer in the Shubert / Stella area, the Board voted to approved a contract with LBG, Inc. to start immediately with a review.
No action was taken to limit well development in the area, but that will be an agenda item during the October NRD Board of Directors meeting
