A Holton resident, and business owner, has filed to run against a fellow Republican for the 50th District House Seat in Kansas. Dan Brenner Monday announced his candidacy as State Representative, seeking the position currently held by Trent LeDoux(Play Audio 28 secs)
Among Brenner's goals is to see Kansas government get out of the way of growth(Play Audio 24 secs)
Brenner will also push to see Kansas, like other states, adopt a “Back to School Sales Tax Free” weekend, as a way to save money for consumers, while stimulating business growth(Play Audio 26 secs)
Brenner also has his sights set on state owned casinos and methods of using those revenues for what he sees as the good of Kansas on a whole(Play Audio 23 secs)
Brenner, is his announcement to run for the Kansas Legislature, also outlines what he calls his intent to “put his money where his mouth is,” designating one half of his net legislative salary to charity

The 50th District of Kansas currently includes all of Jackson County and a northern portion of Shawnee County.
LeDoux, who has not yet filed for re-election, was appointed to the seat to fill the unexpired term of the late Rocky Fund.
Brenner, and his wife, Marcia, reside in Holton and are the owners of Diamonds By Design there, in Topeka, and Emporia.
