The Benedictine Ravens thrilled a large Senior Night crowd Thursday night by sweeping Baker University.
Led by their 3 Seniors, the Lady Ravens took a lead early and never looked back as they won 67-49. Teresa Zienkewicz had 13 points, Kelsey Wolfe 9 and Kristin Thorne 8 in their final regular season home game for BC. Benedictine clinched a home game in the HAAC post-season tournament on March 1 against an opponent yet to be determined.
Senior Quaran Johnson hit a game-tieing 3-pointer with 5 seconds left in regulation to send the Ravens into overtime. From there, BC outscored Baker 17-11 and won 68-62. Benedictine was led by Charlie Wallrapp with 16 and Elgin Caldwell with 12. The BC men are in a 3-way battle for a home playoff game which will be decided by the final game of the season.
Benedictine finishes the regular season Saturday at Avila. Tipoff for the women is set for 2:00 and the men follow at 4:00. Both games willl be heard live on KAIR 93.7.
