The trial date has been set for a DuBois man charges with stealing thousands of dollars from his elderly uncle. A jury trial was scheduled for June 13th for Lewis Rakosnik during an arraignment Monday in Pawnee County District Court.
Rakosnik faces 33 counts of felony abuse of a vulnerable adult, along with two felony charges of attempted abuse of a vulnerable adult, and four misdemeanor charges of attempted felony abuse.
Authorities say Rakosnik stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from his uncle over an 11-month period. They say he sold land, cashed out CDs, and transferred money from his uncle’s bank account without permission.
Rakosnik was arrested January 31st following a five-month State Patrol investigation.
