A former Elwood police officer facing sex and eavesdropping charges waives his preliminary hearing.
Former police Sgt. Brian Vincent was bound over to Doniphan County District Court last week on two felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two misdemeanor counts of eavesdropping by unlawful use of a camera phone. Arraignment has been set for June 6th.
According to court documents, the alleged offenses occurred between November 2007 and July 2010.
Vincent was arrested March 30th following an investigation by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
He was fired in June of last year after serving more than 10 years with the Elwood Police Department. He also worked part-time for the Wathena Police Department at the time.
Nemaha County Attorney Brad Lippert is serving as special prosecutor in the case.
Vincent remains in the Doniphan County Jail on $100,000 bond.
