Donations, to make the future location of the Jackson County Fair a reality, now total 900-thousand-dollars.
That's a strong step towards the estimated 3-point-75-million-dollar cost to complete the Northeast Kansas Heritage Complex, where completion of the first building is making good progress.
The exhibit building will be the first part of the overall complex to be used publicly, with the Jackson County Fair's annual dog show to be held in that facility on July 14th.
Meanwhile, the fair association last week received it's single largest donation to date, as a local bank stepped in to support the Heritage Complex cause.
Denison Bancshares Inc., holding company for Holton's Denison State Bank, donated a 100-thousand-dollar check earmarked for development and construction of the future fair location.
