The field of candidates vying to become the next Doniphan County sheriff continues to grow.
Brandon Whetstine, who currently serves as Highland Police Chief, is the lastest candidate to file.
He joins current Undersheriff Chad Clary of Highland, Gary “ Joe” Frump of Troy and Mark Allen of Highland in seeking the position.
All four candidates are Republicans.
Longtime Sheriff Jerry Dubach announced earlier this month he will not seek re-election after holding the position for 26 years.
Candidates for have until noon, June 1st to file.
