The Free Summer Lunch Program for Children in Falls City is in desperate need of volunteer help. The Falls City Ministerial Association sponsors the program locally. Ministerial Association President Fr. Larry Parrish with St. Thomas Episcopal Church explains the program. ( play audio :23 seconds )
Because at least 50 percent of the students in the Falls City School system are eligible for free or reduced price lunches, the Summer Lunch Program in sponsored in Falls City. Fr. Parrish says all children are welcome to have lunch. ( play audio :12 seconds )
For various reasons, there is a shortage of volunteers to help with the lunch program this year. ( play audio :25 seconds )

Fr. Parrish says about the only stipulation to being a cook, is being at least 18 years of age. The menus are set, the food is on site, the program supervisor can direct you and the preparation of the food is simple. ( play audio :09 seconds )

The meals are prepared and served at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at 20th and Towle Streets in Falls City.
There are orientation requirements, but can be met easily if you are willing to help.
